Mrs. Hendry’s Newsletter January 17th, 2018
This week in class we have continued our discussion about Polar Bears. We will be wrapping this up on Friday. I will be including a science lesson on melting. Lucky for the students I will be doing this using “Polar Bear Pies” AKA ice cream sandwiches. I will have each child tell me how long they think it will take for the ice cream to melt at room temperature. I will record this on a chart and we will see who had the lucky guess! I will then let the students each have a Polar Bear Pie at snack time J
We have begun a lesson on matching and sorting. I have talked with the students about all the various ways in which we can match things together.. by color, size, pattern, shape etc. Next week I will also be introducing the letter ‘Mm’ and the number 7.
The school auction will be here before we know it! Please join us at this event on Saturday March 10th. This really is a fun evening and I look forward to attending each year. You can register to attend in the office or at https://icolph.ejoinme.org/2018Auction
The procurement deadline is January 31st for all items. You may drop these items off in the carpool lane before or after school. There will be older students available to receive these items from you. Or of course you may bring them in to the office.
I am available for any questions you may have regarding procurement or the event itself.
