Mrs. Hendry's Newsletter April 9th, 2018
I hope everyone had a restful spring break. I can’t believe we’re in the home stretch for the end of this school year. All of the students have grown and changed so much since the fall, thank you for letting me be a part of your child’s journey.
This week we will be talking about the letter ‘v’ and the sound that it makes. We played grocery store today in class trying to think of anything you could buy that begins with the letter v.. it wasn’t an easy task! We broadened our shopping and came up with a few after that. For example; van, violin, violets, volcano etc. Your students will also be planting their own seeds in a pot this week to watch their very own flowers grow. We will discuss all the steps that a seed has to go through to become a plant or a flower.
Next week we will continue our talk about spring time, and all the things that change during this time of the year. I will be asking your student what they see happening around them as our season changes from winter to spring. I will move on to the letter ‘W’ towards the end of next week, and continue our number practice up to number 10 as well. We will be doing a large amount of letter and number practice at this point in order to get the children ready for kindergarten. Please continue to practice at home as well
