Mrs. Hendry’s newsletter February 20th, 2018
I want thank those of you who gave me a Valentine’s Day gift! It was wonderful to come back to J I came down with the flu last week, and as you can imagine it was not fun. Thank you for being patient and welcoming to Mrs. Cook while I was out.
We will be starting out unit on frogs this week, it was put off since I was gone. We will be learning about the life cycle of a frog. The students will be able to tell you the stages from an egg to an adult frog. The children will also be doing math and matching worksheets with frogs as our theme. I will be bringing in my frogs from home on Friday for the kids to look at. I will be introducing the letter ‘K’ at the end of the week, and continue that into next week as well. The students will also learn about the number 9.
Next week a special week. We will be celebrating Dr. Suess! His birthday is next Friday the 2nd of March. Throughout next week the children will get the chance to participate in activities representing themes from a Dr. Suess book. I have attached the list of the themed days and the book I will be reading in class that corresponds with it. These dress days are not mandatory. Please still have students in their uniform on “Hat”day and “Silly Sock” day.
