Mrs Hendry’s Newsletter November 26, 2018
I hope everyone had a fun and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday. The students sure enjoyed the feast they had in class, and thank you to everyone that brought in food to share. I hope you all got the chance to read what all your children are thankful for written on their Turkey they brought home before break. It’s always one of my favorite things to do with the students. The stuff they say! Ha!
This week and the following week we will continue to work on the letters in our alphabet. The focus will be on the letters V and W. We will also be working with the shape of a diamond and a star. As you can imagine, I will be spending a lot of time on the Christmas holiday in the coming weeks and teaching the children about Advent.
There is a lot of important dates to remember in the next month as well..
Friday November 30th- Trimester ends for older grades.
December 7th- Report cards go home(I’m working on a version to send home at the Pre k level)
December 8th(Saturday) Holiday Bazaar in the Gym! 10:00am-4:00pm
December 19th ALL school Christmas program-details to come later
December 20th- Noon dismissal-NO PM preschool!
Please remember Auction Procurement is going on now. If you are new to the school and don’t understand what this means or need ideas please ask me, I’m willing to help out in any way that I can. Items procured, auction tickets purchased or sponsors received in the next two weeks will help each class earn points toward a pet for the school pet races. If enough points have been earned, our pre-k classes will earn a pet(battery pig or other animal) to dress up and race against the entire school. I will let all parents know when this exciting event takes place in advance.. You will want to watch J The students take a lot of pride in their classroom pet, and of course wants to win!!
