February 7, 2019
Yikes! Lots of snow these days! I’m saving our curriculum work for next week since we’ve hardly been here. We’ll see what we can get done for Valentine’s Day prep in the meantime. I have a feeling their will be a few more snow days in our future and want to be ready when we come back before the 14th.
In class next week we will work on our letter C, capitol and lower case. We will also work on learning to draw hearts and all about the number 9. The month of February is one of my favorites. I will be talking to the kids about Valentine’s Day and why we celebrate it. We will be making Valentine frogs to decorate our classroom with and also will be discussing real Frog’s and their habitats. I will be bringing in my frogs from home for the students to see. These fire bellied toads are my son’s, and are really fun to look at. These guys can live for up to 15 years!
We will be celebrating Valentine’s Day in class on Thursday Feb. 14th. We have free dress this day in red, pink or Valentine themed clothing. There will be treats provided. We will decorate Valentine boxes in class in preparation for our party, so if your child would like to bring in Valentine cards that would be great. Please only write on them who they are from. It’s too hard to get all the cards into the correct box otherwise. The kids can then place them in their friends bags themselves.
